MUSIC HEALS
Music therapy is a specialised subject with qualified practitioners who are trained in this field of healing.
I am not a qualified practitioner, but somebody who has been involved with playing and learning music for some 58 years now, it is my therapy and mediation.
So I believe that the very involvement in music whether as a player or listener is a therapy.
I conduct workshops, as well as private music lessons, that teach how to find our own musical personality and voice, to find the music within. I believe that this is inherent in everybody and to play music that is rewarding does not require complicated skills, such as hours of learning scales and music theory. Some of the greatest music is simple, for example Beethoven’s “Fur Elise”, a piece he wrote for a student, but you can find great pleasure creating your own music. It is your approach and attitude that matters; this can be learnt and has nothing to do with practiced and acquired skills.
